Poor snow conditions have forced organizers to postpone the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon in northeastern Minnesota. The race, scheduled to start Jan. 27, has been pushed back to March 10.

Race coordinator Pat Olson told the Duluth News-Tribune (bit.ly/X2Owql) that the trail was "terrible." Olson said organizers are hoping for snow by the new date. If it doesn't, the race could face only its third cancellation. It was canceled in 2007 and last year.
