STILL KICKING

  • Updated: January 8, 2013 - 8:02 PM

STILL KICKING A tweet from Ed Werder (@Edwerderespn) broke the news that ex-Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell will sign with Seattle and could kick in the playoffs.

KICKSTART? Havard Rugland, a 28-year-old kicker from Norway, reportedly has intrigued some NFL personnel folks with a viral YouTube video of his kicking skills.

EXPOSURE Katherine Webb, Miss Alabama and the girlfriend of Crimson Tide QB AJ McCarron, gained more than 90,000 Twitter followers during the BCS title game.

Fans who adore the offseason churn of numbers temporarily put down those calculators while the Vikings took all the December headlines. As noted on RandBall, many of them will look up now at the Twins -- spring training starts next month -- and start to really wonder about this year's projected payroll, which figures to be around $80 million if no more moves are made.
