JORDANA BRADY

Irondale • gymnastics

An accomplished club gymnast for much of her life, Brady had endured repeated requests around school to become a member of the high school team.

The idea took root last fall and Brady made the switch, leaving Flyaways Gold Gymnastics in Forest Lake to join the Knights. It was a move that has paid off with far greater dividends than Brady could have hoped.

Brady has competed in five meets this season and won the all-around title in each, highlighted by her most impressive victory of the year at the MGGOA Classic on Saturday at Roseville.

Brady tied for first in the floor exercise, was second on the uneven bars and took third on the balance beam and the vault. She finished with a personal best all-around score of 37.05.

"That was my favorite meet because there was good competition and I had to push myself," Brady said.

While she misses club gymnastics, Brady is enjoying high school gymnastics more than she envisioned.

"I'm very surprised at how things have gone," she said. "This season has been a big confidence boost."

It's also revealed a part of the gymnastics world that she never knew existed.

"In club, you're competing for yourself," she said. "The best part about high school gymnastics is that I'm seeing people I've never met and finding out how many girls from different schools just love the sport. They're not doing it for a scholarship, they're doing it because they love it."

AARON GREENBERG

Eden Prairie • swimming

An established big-meet swimmer, Greenberg -- a four-event champion at the 2012 state meet -- had four first-place finishes (100-yard breaststroke, 50 freestyle, 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay) in leading the Eagles to the Gold Division title at Saturday's Maroon and Gold Invitational at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

SYDNEY CONLEY

South St. Paul • hockey

The Packers have revived their season with three consecutive victories and Conley, a sophomore goalie, has been vital to the resurgence. She stopped 74 of 77 shots as the Packers shut out Blake 4-0, defeated Roseville 4-1 and outlasted Hill-Murray 3-2 in overtime.

JORDAN MORAN

Prior Lake • hockey

The senior goaltender has three shutouts over the past four games, blanking Andover, Lakeville South in the Schwan Cup and Burnsville. He grudgingly gave up two goals in a 2-1 overtime loss to Eden Prairie. He has a .983 save percentage over that span.

JACOB RUKAVINA

Eastview • wrestling

In the past two weeks, the junior has compiled a 9-1 record. He was 4-0 last week, wrestling a weight higher than usual at 160 pounds yet still winning his weight class at the Burnsville Invitational. He is ranked No. 8 in Class 3A at 152 pounds.

MARY CLAIRE MCGRORY

Edina • basketball

The Creighton-bound senior led Edina to the championship of the St. Michael-Albertville Holiday Invitational and followed with a 23-point, six-rebound effort in a 55-42 victory over Shakopee. She is five points shy of 1,000 for her career.

ABBI WHITE

Forest Lake • hockey

With a five-game winning streak, the Rangers are two games over .500. The senior goalie has elevated her game during that stretch, stopping 139 out of 147 shots (.946 save percentage). She made 39 saves in a 2-1 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall.
