Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent says he's "just trying to deal" with the death of his teammate and "very best friend" Jerry Brown.

Brent is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the accident that killed Brown.

Brent was released from jail in the Dallas suburb of Irving after posting $500,000 bond Sunday, a day after police say he was drunk and speeding when the vehicle he was driving clipped a curb and flipped.

Brent's release came about an hour after the Cowboys secured an emotional 20-19 victory in Cincinnati with a field goal on the final play. Brent was supposed to start the game.

The 25-year-old Brown was a member of the Cowboys' practice squad and living with Brent, a teammate also at the University of Illinois, while he pursued his dream of playing in the NFL.

• MORE SKILL THAN LUCK: Quarterback Andrew Luck, after leading the Colts over the Titans 27-23 on Sunday, now has six fourth-quarter comebacks this season, one more than Ben Roethlisberger had in 2004 and Vince Young had in 2006 -- the highest single-season total by a rookie quarterback since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.

• WASTING AWAY IN 49ERVILLE: 49ers running back Brandon Jacobs is becoming even more frustrated with his extremely limited role. Jacobs said via Instagram that he is "on this team rotting away" while referring to his first season with the Niners as his "worst" yet during an eight-year career that included seven with the New York Giants. Jacobs, 30, has five carries for 7 yards while being active for only two games with the NFC West-leading Niners (9-3-1).

• SO MUCH FOR A 50-50 CHANCE: The Panthers hadn't won a coin flip all year until Sunday against the Falcons, causing team captain Jordan Gross to exult at midfield by thrusting both arms into the air. Including one overtime game, the Panthers had lost 13 consecutive coin flips this season.
