This is Amelia Rayno's second season on the Gophers' basketball beat. She learned college basketball in North Carolina (Go Tar Heels!), where fanhood is not an option. In 2010, she joined the Star Tribune after graduating from Boston's Emerson College, which sadly had no exciting D-I college hoops to latch onto. Amelia has also worked on the sports desk at the Boston Globe and interned at the Detroit News.

[UPDATE on DirecTV below]

OK – so I know this issue of not being able to watch the Gophers on TV is getting pretty old. And to be honest, you’re probably not going to like a lot of what I have to say here about your viewing options for Gophers-USC on Saturday.

But to show you I do CARE, I have compiled everything you need to know to hopefully catch this matchup.

(Seriously, this might be the nicest thing I’ve ever done for you guys. So no yelling at me on Twitter if you can’t get the game in your living room! Thanks.)

Gophers – USC
Pac-12 Network, 9:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Dec. 8.

ON LOCAL TV:

I called all three major cable outlets and this is what they told me:

Comcast: They actually don’t carry the Pac-12 Network, no matter which package you have, in either Minneapolis or St. Paul. I know. Bad news. But that’s how it is.

Dish Network: If you have the multi-sport package (which also includes NFL Red Zone), you should get this game. Pac-12 Network should be 413.

DirecTV: UPDATE: While the DirecTV rep I talked to initially told me channel 693 is the Pac-12 Network on the sports package, it is clear from further research that this is simply not true. The two sides have been at an impasse over fees, and the Pac-12 Network has not been available on DirecTV to anyone. Sorry for the initial confusion.

ONLINE:

Unfortunately, since Pac-12 owns the rights to this game, the Gophers cannot show it on All-Access. So to my knowledge, it will not be online. Again, violins. I feel ya.

ON THE RADIO: Of course, per usual, you can listen to the gamecast on 1500AM in the Twin Cities.

So – you want to actually WATCH the game and you don’t have any of those special channels?

Your best bet is to find a bar that has the appropriate Dish Network multi-sport package. I had a list of bars that were allegedly going to show the game, but some of those were DirecTV customers. If I get time, I will try to call a few of them back to see which actually do have the Dish Network package.

That being said, Expedia is always there for last-minute tickets to Southern Cal, which is where I’ll be. Not to brag.
