QUICK Q&A JUSTIN HEROLD-PLAKUT WOODBURY, JR. WRESTLINGLast year: I placed fifth at 132 [pounds] in the [Class 3A] state meet. It was a really hard weight class. I was pretty happy.

Goals: Last year really made me want more for this year. I'm looking to get in the top three at the state meet.

Weight this year: I'm probably going to start at 160 [pounds] and then go down to 152 or 145.

How difficult is dropping that much weight? It takes a lot of work and you have to have a goal. If you don't have something you're working toward, you'll just quit. I'll always keep the goal of being in the top three in mind.

How did you start wrestling? Way back in [elementary] school, I was pretty rough-and-tumble. I was hurting kids because I had so much energy. My dad got me out for wrestling and I tried it and loved it.

What is the most important part of wrestling? The mental part. That's the biggest thing. I spend a lot of time at home thinking about what I've got to do to get better, watching film to see my mistakes.

Signature move: It would be a single-leg [takedown]. I'm not looking to shoot the leg so much as set them up.

Getting away from the mat: I like to work on engines. I mess around with them, fix snowmobiles and things like that. Right now, I'm restoring a 1979 Suzuki DS 100. It's a dirt bike.
