• WINONA ST. 74, NORWOOD 67: Clayton Vette had 29 points and 15 rebounds as the No. 11 Warriors beat host Norwood in Midland, Mich. Vette was 10-of-20 from the floor in scoring at least 20 points for the third time this season.

Winona State took a 57-56 lead on Vette's layuyp with 7 minutes, 28 second to play and shortly afterward went on a 10-2 run to take control. Xavier Humphrey had nine points and five rebounds for the Warriors and Kellen Taylor eight.

The Warriors (5-1) committed only seven turnovers while scoring 21 points off Norwood's 16 turnovers.

• MACALESTER 73, CAL TECH 61: Sam Marshall scored 23 points and had nine rebounds as the Scots improved to 3-1 with their second victory in less than 24 hours on a road trip to California. Macalester beat Occidental 81-75 on Friday afternoon. Marshall was 7-for-9 from the field.

Pierce Peters added 16 points, Hans Erickson 13 and Dylan Kilgour 11 for the Scots.

Michael Edwards paced Caltech (0-4) with 16 points.

Macalester led 13-5 in second chance points.

Cal Ttech led 18-17 before the Scots began a 10-2 run to go on top 27-20. The Beavers came back to deadlock the halftime score at 28-28. The Scots re-gained momentum to start the second period and went up 40-29. Mac led 62-44 with 7:10 to play and the advantage grew to 22 points at 70-48 with 3:42 to go.

Macalester opens MIAC play Wednesday when it hosts St. Thomas at 7:30 p.m.
