An MRI confirmed that Percy Harvin has a sprained left ankle. Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Harvin will be considered day-to-day and more will be known about his status for Sunday's game later in the week.

Meanwhile, tight end John Carlson (concussion) is expected back at practice Wednesday. And defensive tackle Letroy Guion has a turf toe and is considered day-to-day.

As expected, Frazier went into some detail about the Vikings' struggles with the passing game and stopping the run on defense. Much of the questioning was about the play of quarterback Christian Ponder. Frazier said the team had to do a better job of running routes and protecting Ponder. but, ultimately, the second-year quarterback will have to play better.

That said, Frazier said he has not considered benching Ponder, even for a series. We'll have more on Frazier's press conference shortly.
