Amundson agrees to deal with Wolves

The Timberwolves have agreed to terms with veteran free-agent power forward Lou Amundson on a one-year guaranteed minimum contract.
Amundson, 29, is joining his sixth team for his seventh NBA season. The 6-9, 225-pounder played last season with Indiana and gives the Wolves bench a hustle guy who will play defense against opponents' power forwards and centers.
His signing gives the Wolves 14 players with fully guaranteed contracts. They can carry 15 players when the season starts Nov. 2.
Guard Will Conroy has a partially guaranteed deal and the Wolves still could sign one more wing player before camp begins next Tuesday in Mankato, Minn.
Amundson's arrival means forward Anthony Tolliver won't return to the Wolves and makes the signing of free agent center Hassan Whiteside less likely. Tolliver said Amundson's signing "absolutely" means he will sign elsewhere.
It also means the Wolves probably won't make a significant trade until later in the preseason or early in the regular season, if they indeed make one at all.
