Upsets continue to shake up Big 12

One day after fifth-seeded Oklahoma lost to 12th-seeded Missouri, top-seeded Kansas State and second-seeded Baylor also were eliminated in the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City, Mo.

Alison Lacey drove coast-to-coast for a three-point play with 4.5 seconds left in overtime, lifting eighth-seeded Iowa State to a 66-65 upset of No. 15 Kansas State in Wednesday's quarterfinals.

Kansas State's Shalee Lehning responded by driving the length of the court in 4 seconds and put up running bank shot, but the ball rolled around the rim twice and then off.

Baylor, ranked eighth in the country, lost to Texas 76-61.

Iowa State (20-11) virtually secured itself an NCAA tournament bid. Heather Ezell has 15 three-pointers in the Cyclones' two Big 12 tournament games.

Kansas State lost leading scorer Kimberly Dietz to an apparent knee injury early in the game.

• PATRIOT LEAGUE: Amanda Brown scored 14 points to lead Bucknell to a 57-43 upset of Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. The Bison lost twice to Holy Cross in the regular season.

Notes

Connecticut has responded to NCAA concerns that its women's basketball office helped arrange a private tour of Bristol-based ESPN for then-top recruit Maya Moore. The tour, which took place in October 2005, might have violated NCAA rules because it may be considered a benefit not available to all UConn students.
