The Augsburg wrestling team fell to third place after two sessions of the NCAA Division III meet Friday night in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Auggies have 45 points. Wartburg leads with 77.5, 20 more than Wisconsin La Crosse.

Five Augsburg wrestlers clinched All-America honors: Seth Flodeen at 125 pounds, Jason Adams at 141 and Willy Holst at 149 advanced to the semifinals. Travis Lang (133) and Robbie Gotreau (184) lost in the quarterfinals but stayed alive by winning in wrestlebacks.

Gophers women defeat Tar Heels gymnasts

The Gophers women's gymnastics team dominated all four rotations and rolled to a 194.675-191.225 victory over North Carolina on Friday night at the Sports Pavilion.

Carmelina Carabajal posted three top-three finishes, including a tie for first on bars and a win on floor exercise, to lead the Gophers, who improved their dual meet record to 9-5.

Lynx sign guard

The Lynx have signed former Vanderbilt guard Caroline Williams, a 2007 graduate who is working as a graduate assistant for the Commodores.

The 5-10 Williams owns the Vanderbilt and Southeastern Conference record for career three-point shooting percentage, making 46.5 percent of her 512 long-range attempts, which also ranks second all-time in the NCAA.

Williams was chosen All-Southeastern Conference second team twice. As a senior, she averaged 12.0 points and led the Commodores with 33.0 minutes played per game.

That season, Vanderbilt ranked No. 1 in the nation in three-point accuracy 43.7 percent, with Williams hitting 48.7 percent.
