Amani Walker continued his strong start to the season with a tying goal in first-half stoppage time, and Minnesota Stars FC scored twice in the second half for a 3-1 victory at Fort Lauderdale on Saturday night.

The defending champion Stars are 4-0-3 this season.

Walker intercepted a Strikers pass and beat goalkeeper Matt Glaeser shortly before halftime. Miguel Ibarra scored for the Stars on a rebound in the 62nd minute, and sub Simone Bracalello made it 3-1 in the 83rd.

"The game really turned when we got that goal right before the half," Stars coach Manny Lagos said.

Van Rooyen ends 19th Erik Van Rooyen finished his third season as a Gophers golfer with a 3-under par 68 in the final round of the 2012 NCAA Ann Arbor Regional. He ended in a tie for 19th place with a 54-hole total of even-par 213 (74-71-68).

His final-round 68 was the second-lowest round for the South African this season.

Lisa Dyer of Moorhead, Minn., won the Fargo Marathon, finishing in 2 hours, 45 minutes, 15 seconds Saturday. German Oliver Hoffman won the men's race in 2:28:15 for his first American victory.

• Hidden Gold, with Dean Butler on board, defended her title by winning the $35,000 Lady Slipper Stakes at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. Bet Your Boots, ridden by Juan Rivera, beat Bizet by a half-length in the 10,000 Lakes Stakes.

• The St. Paul Saints and Gary were rained out at Midway Stadium and will play a doubleheader Sunday.
