WEEK 1 OF THE NHL
The Wild begins its 2011-12 season at home on Saturday night vs. Columbus. Here are some other opening week highlights:
Thursday: Opening night doubleheader on VS. The defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins host Philadelphia at 6 p.m., and Pittsburgh plays at Vancouver at 9 p.m.
Friday-Saturday: Anaheim, Buffalo, Los Angeles and the New York Rangers will play a total of four games in two days in three European capitals (Stockholm, Helsinki and Berlin).
Sunday: The Winnipeg Jets mark their return to the NHL with a home game against Montreal.
