Ohio State ranks second nationally in rushing defense at 62.9 yards per game and has allowed only one rushing touchdown. Michigan State ranks ninth nationally in rushing at 242.7 yards per game and has 20 rushing touchdowns. Spartans tailback Javon Ringer has averaged 177.7 rushing yards in three Big Ten games. This game matches teacher (Ohio State's Jim Tressel) vs. his pupil (Michigan State's Mark Dantonio).
