Upper Great Lakes Regional Championships

When: Today-Sunday

Where: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

What: One of nine regional championships that begin the qualifying process for the 2008 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in St. Paul. The top four competitors in each category at the regionals advance to sectional competition, where qualifying continues.

Locals: Minnesota senior-level skaters competing at the Upper Great Lakes include Rohene Ward (Starlight Ice Dance Club) in the men's competition and Rachel Baisch (St. Paul Figure Skating Club), Amanda Farris and Chanelle Schoonmaker (Figure Skating Club of Bloomington), Michelle Green (Elk River Figure Skating Club) and Angie Lien and Molly Oberstar (Duluth Figure Skating Club) in the women's competition.
