Late TD enough for Winona State

Alex Wiese's 10-yard touchdown run and Ryan Abbott's extra-point kick with 39 seconds remaining lifted visiting Winona State to a 42-41 NSIC victory over Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday.

The Dragons, who led by as many as 16 points, took a 41-35 lead with 1 minute, 36 seconds left on a 27-yard field goal by Kyle Wilcox.

Drew Aber passed for 317 yards and two TDs to lead the Warriors.

Dustin Long passed for 361 yards and three TDs and Enol Gilles rushed for 144 yards to lead the Dragons.

In other NSIC games:

Southwest Minnesota State 24, Concordia (St. Paul) 19: Zach Wysong scored two touchdowns and Scott Talcott kicked four field goals to lead the Mustangs to the victory in Marshall, Minn.

Mary 10, Bemidji State 7: The Marauders defense forced six fumbles and recovered three, and Rett Thibodeaux kicked what proved to be a game-winning 26-yard field goal in the third quarter as Mary ended the Beavers' 11-game NSIC winning streak.

Upper Iowa 50, Minnesota-Crookston 21: T.C. Hicks rushed for 233 yards and two touchdowns to lead the visiting Peacocks.

Concordia (Moorhead) 34, Hamline 14: The host Cobbers overcame six turnovers in the victory. They had seven fumbles -- the Pipers recovered six of them, including two for touchdowns.

St. Thomas 19, Carleton 7: The Tommies earned their first victory of the season by forcing six Knights turnovers in Northfield, Minn. David Sauer passed for 197 yards and two touchdowns and also scored on a 2-yard run for the Tommies.

Bethel 38, Gustavus Adolphus 23: The host Royals built a 21-0 lead in the opening 11 minutes, scoring 14 points in a 15-second span.

Augsburg 14, Wartburg 13: Clint Donovan's 6-yard touchdown reception with 2:50 remaining lifted the Auggies to a come-from-behind victory in Waverly, Iowa.

NCC

Minn. Duluth 34, Augustana 7: Ted Schlafke passed for 241 yards and two touchdowns and Tyler Yelk returned an interception 72 yards for a TD in the Bulldogs' victory in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Western Washington 18, St. Cloud State 15: Josh Lider kicked four field goals to help the Vikings rally in Bellingham, Wash. The Huskies led 13-0 in the first quarter.

North Dakota 38, Minnesota State Mankato 34: The Sioux scored 14 points in the final 5:13 to rally over the host Mavericks. Brandon Brady's 2-yard touchdown run capped a five-play, 67-yard drive and the PAT pulled the Sioux to within three with 5:13 left. Danny Freund passed for 346 yards for North Dakota.

Central Washington 45, South Dakota 40: Mike Reilly passed for 399 yards and four TDs as the Wildcats outlasted the Coyotes in Ellensburg, Wash. The game featured an NCC record 1,170 yards of total offense.

Crown 48, Trinity Bible 34: Matthew Bremer rushed for three touchdowns for Crown.

Minn.-Morris 48, Maranatha Baptist 18: Taylor Johnson rushed for 173 yards and two TDs to lead the visiting Cougars.

Northwestern (Roseville) 53, Martin Luther 20: Zack Tarter passed for three TDs for Northwestern.

Great West

North Dakota State 35, Cal-Davis 16: Tyler Roehl rushed for three touchdowns as the Bison beat the Aggies in Fargo, N.D., for their ninth consecutive victory.

Georgia Southern 41, South Dakota State 38: Jesse Hartley kicked a 54-yard field goal on the final play of the game to give the Eagles a nonconference victory over the Jackrabbits in Statesboro, Ga.

WIAC

Wis.-Eau Claire 31, Wis.-La Crosse 29: Craig Kolb's 46-yard field goal with 24 seconds left gave the host Blugolds the victory.

Wis.-Whitewater 38, Wis.-River Falls 12: Justin Beaver rushed for 233 yards and two touchdowns to lead the host Warhawks.

Wis.-Oshkosh 23, Wis.-Stout 13: Andy Moriarty caught a 53-yard TD pass and ran for another score for the host Titans.

Independent

Colorado College 44, Macalester 14: Jon McDonald passed for 255 yards and four TDs and rushed for 70 yards and a TD to lead the Tigers in St. Paul.
