Dylan Osetkowski scored a career-high 26 points as host Texas defeated South Dakota State 79-73 in the first round of the NIT on Tuesday night.
Texas (17-16) scored the first 19 points of the game.
Mike Daum had 25 points and 11 rebounds in the final game of his college career for the Jackrabbits (24-9), who won the Summit League regular-season title but lost in the first round of the conference tournament. Daum finished seventh all-time in Division I scoring with 3,067 points.
