The Lynx's top players are trickling into training camp.

Maya Moore, the first starter to be at practices this week, was at the Life Time Fitness Center at Target Center on Wednesday.

Seimone Augustus and Lindsay Whalen are expected to be at practice on Friday. Those three, of course, have been named to the U.S. team for the London Summer Olympics, so they will be gone for several days in the middle of this month to practice with the national team.

Rebekkah Brunson, a fourth starter, is scheduled to be in camp on Saturday.

And Taj McWilliams-Franklin, who turned 41 shortly after the Lynx won the WNBA title last October, will be the last starter to come to training camp. She and Amber Harris are expected to report on Monday, which is also media day.

A horde of reporters and photographers should be there, considering how bleak the sports landscape in the Twin Cities is these days outside the Lynx' success last season. You don't need examples do you?

* Whalen played this winter for USK Praha in the Czech Republic; her team won the Czech Cup. ... Augustus' Sparta & K team was second in the Russian League and sixth in the EuroLeague.

* The Lynx on Thursday waived Porsche Poole, a 5-7 guard from Michigan State. She was one of five rookies signed as free agents. ... According to one close observer of practices, the rookie free agents making the best impression in practices so far are 6-2 forward Jasmine Lee from Memphis and 5-7 guard Tavelyn James from Eastern Michigan. Lee is a possible challenger of Augustus' for the Lynx with the most tattoos. She has large tats on both her arms.

* There are 17 players left on the Lynx roster.
