Texan chosen to head Maple Grove Hospital

Maple Grove Hospital, set to open in late 2009, announced its selection of a chief executive officer.

Andrew S. Cochrane, CEO of Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston, will take his new post in early November.

"Andy has demonstrated strong leadership in the community hospital and large health system environment," said David Cress, president and CEO for North Memorial Health Care, which is operating Maple Grove Hospital along with Fairview Health Services.

Maple Grove will open with 90 beds and is designed to expand to up to 300 beds. In the past two years, Willowbrook, has grown from 68 to 119 beds.

Construction on Maple Grove Hospital began in the spring of 2007 and is scheduled to open in December 2009.

Key features include all private patient rooms, abundant natural lighting and an electronic health record system.
