UND gets split with Badgers

• NORTH DAKOTA 3, WISCONSIN 1: After suffering its first loss of the season the night before, top-ranked UND (7-0-2) beat the visiting Badgers (3-4-3) in Saturday's rematch on two-third period goals. Shane Gersich broke a 1-1 tie with a goal at 7 minutes, 30 seconds. Drake Caggiula added an insurance goal at 15:20. Badgers goalie Matt Jurusik made 35 stops. Grant Besse scored for Wisconsin in the second period.

• MICHIGAN STATE 7, NEW HAMPSHIRE 4: The wingers on the Spartans' top three lines all scored one goal in a rout of the Wildcats while first-line center Michael Ferrantino had three assists. Michigan State pulled away with three goals in the third period. New Hampshire goalie Daniel Thorpe had 36 saves, while Jake Hildebrand made 20 saves for the Spartans.


• OMAHA 4, MINNESOTA DULUTH 2: Jack Guentzel, the son of Gophers associate head coach Mike, scored two goals and had an assist as the No. 8 Mavericks beat the No. 6 Bulldogs in Omaha. Jack Guentzel's first goal put the Mavericks ahead 2-1 with 6½ minutes to play; his second was shorthanded into an empty net with just over two minutes left. Dominic Toninato and Willie Rascob scored goals for UMD.


• MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO 3, FERRIS STATE 2: Casey Nelson scored midway through the second period for the visiting Mavericks to tie the score at 2-2 and Zeb Knutson got the winner with 2:31 left in the middle period. Zach Stephan had the other MSU Mankato goal in the second minute of the game. Cole Huggins had 29 saves for the Mavericks, Darren Smith 30 for the Bulldogs.
