The "Gay Messiah" is coming to town! After a long career that included a stint singing for soundtracks from "Shrek" to "Moulin Rogue," a drug addiction and six storied albums, Rufus has emerged as this century's most famous Wainwright. But he's not the only spawn of folk musicians Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle to have the songwriting gene. His sister Martha will be performing as well, singing tracks off "I Know You're Married, But I Have Feelings Too." $1 from every ticket sale will go to The Kate McGarrigle fund, which benefits health causes and cancer treatments.

Wednesday, Aug. 11, 8 p.m.

Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Mall, Mpls.

$26-$51, $76 VIP
