The Twin Cities will have a locally-grown production of "Rent," Jonathan Larson's emo rock take on "La Bohème," with some heavy hitters, vocally. The production stars Harley Wood, lead vocalist of the Minneapolis rock band Far From Falling. He plays Roger opposite hip hop artist Maria Isa's Mimi. The company includes Jamecia Bennett, of the Sounds of Blackness and "Caroline, or Change" at the Guthrie, and her daughter, "American Idol" finalist Paris Bennett. The show will be directed by independent producer Andrew Rasmussen under the aegis of Cardinal Theatricals. It will have rock concert-style seating in the at the Lab theater, a 6,000 square foot cabaret space at 700 N. 1st St. in Minneapolis. The show runs Feb. 3-21.
