New blog post from Richard Pitino emphasizing positivity

The newest blog from Gophers coach Richard Pitino is up, making positivity -- and ignoring those early pre-season rankings that don't give Minnesota much love -- the theme with the players back on campus after summer break.
The Gophers held two one-hour practices this week and worked on what Pitino calls their "white" press -- a full court press where the power forward guards the inbounder with the goal of the guard inbounder being to force a speed dribble. It will be interesting to soon start to see all of the hard work and hours of conditioning in action, with the season just around the corner. Should be a significant change -- at least in style -- from what we saw last season.
This is Amelia Rayno's fifth season on the Gophers men's basketball beat. She learned college basketball in North Carolina (Go Tar Heels!), where fanhood is not an option. In 2010, she joined the Star Tribune after graduating from Boston's Emerson College, which sadly had no exciting D-I college hoops to latch onto. Amelia has also worked on the sports desk at the Boston Globe and interned at the Detroit News. Follow Rayno on Twitter @AmeliaRayno.
Given the rare break, coach Richard Pitino gave his team two days off immediately after and then rolled out what he dubbed a "fun" practice on Sunday before getting down to business on Monday and Tuesday.
