MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. _ Proto Labs Inc. (PRLB) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $18.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Maple Plain, Minnesota-based company said it had profit of 67 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 73 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 73 cents per share.

The custom parts manufacturer posted revenue of $109.7 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $109.8 million.

Proto Labs shares have increased 33 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 92 percent in the last 12 months.
