As I pointed out in the minor league section, Ben Revere might have suffered broken bones when he was hit in the face with a pitch last night at Class AA New Britain. Still waiting on an update. but one Twins official said it brought back bad memories of Kirby Puckett getting hit in the head  by Dennis Martinez.

Here are the lineups. Will check back with updates.

Meanwhile, I visited Fort Myers on Monday to check out prospects.

Updates: Jon Rauch is not with the team tonight, He has had an allergic reaction to - something - that has caused blisters on his hands.

Justin Morneau had another good workout day. Still no timetable on progression of duties or rehab stint.

Mauer could end up DH-ing the entire series to make sure his shoulder is OK. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire joked that, the way the Rays run the bases, Mauer's shoulder could get worse if he's behind the plate.

From last  night: Matt Capps pitched in the eighth because he hadn't thrown in three days.

Jose Morales, I felt, should have advanced to second on defensive indifference in the ninth to avoid getting forced out.. Gardenhire pointed out that Morales is not fast,so they wanted to take a couple  pitches and see if Rafael Soriano was going to use a slide step. After a few pitches, they were ready to send Morales. Then Span hits the ball. Morales was supposed to freeze and check to see if the ball was caught, but Morales began to turn his back on the play and retreat to first. If Morales freezes, he gets to second.

If he advances before that pitch, of course, he's on third. With Morales' speed, I can see why the Twins were a little cautious. I'm still surprised he didn't get to second before then,
