Twins first baseman Justin Morneau was checked out by Twins trainers on Wednesday but the club is going to give him another day to rest before it's determined when he'll play again.

Twins general manager Bill Smith said that Morneau will be examined at Target Field tomorrow, then the club will discuss the next steps to take following his head injury.

``We are certainly trying to do all the right things for him personally and for this ballclub," Smith said.

It suggests that Morneau won't be available Thursday for the first of four games against the White Sox. But Smith and the club should know more tomorrow.

Given Morneau's history of head injuries, the Twins will make sure he's fully recovered before allowing him to play again. The guess here is that Morneau could land on the disabled list - which would give him about another week to recover - if the Twins have any doubts about his condition.

Morneau suffered a concussion on July 7 when he was took a knee to the head while sliding into second base. The injury knocked him out of the All-Star Game.
