UPDATE TO THE UPDATE, 5:20 p.m.:

Jonny Flynn isn't playing in today's Las Vegas Summer League opener against the Spurs, which tips off in about 10 minutes. Team says he's being held out because of a sore hip.

UPDATE 4:30 p.m. Central time Monday: Expect the Wolves to official announce the signing of Darko and first-round pick Wesley Johnson and Lazard Hayward, but still don't know if the finalization of the Michael Beasley will come yet today. Wolves say it's merely paperwork, but they could be working to get other deals -- trading Ramon Sessions among them? -- in place first.

ORIGINAL POST:

Landed in Las Vegas late last night for a three-day stay at the Timberwolves summer league.

They open this afternoon with a game against San Antonio at 5:30 p.m. Twin Cities time, the first of five games they will play here in the coming week. (the game will be shown on tape delay at 3 a.m. Tuesday on NBATV for those who want to record it -- or wake up in the middle of the night.)

Today also is the day the Michael Beasley trade should finally be announced. Sometime soon should also come announcing the signings of Darko Milicic, Nikola Pekovic and draft picks Wesley Johnson and Lazar Hayward.

Whether anything else -- trading Ramon Sessions, Al Jefferson, etc., -- goes with it is the question.

I'll be blogging, tweeting and writing from Las Vegas today through Wednesday night's game against Sacramento and DeMarcus Cousins.

I also hope to get a look at No. 1 overall pick John Wall playing for the Wizards tonight as well as a visit with Albert Lea's own Ben Woodside, playing for Golden State's team, and other local angles.

To get things started, here's the story from today's paper on first-round pick Lazar Hayward, the last player taken in the first round last month.
