Big Ten expansion is a hot topic. We haven't followed it as INTENSELY as some, but it's still interesting to us -- and it's heating up. The Omaha World-Herald reports that Nebraska could be making the announcement it is leaving the Big 12 for the Big Ten as early as Friday (which would give the Big 12 eleven schools and the Big Ten twelve schools if you're scoring at home, at least for the time being. Of course, as Stu noted in a link sent to us this morning, it could be more complicated than that if politics come into play. Regardless, the first domino could fall soon. And after that, the landscape could drastically change. Our big question to you is this: in a reconfigured Big Ten -- say, one that poached a bunch of Big 12 teams -- what would the Gophers' place be? That is to say, in men's basketball and football, would adding teams make a difference in the general pecking order of where the Gophers would land in a typical season?

Let's say, for the sake of argument, Nebraska, Missouri, Notre Dame and a couple other teams make the leap to the Big Ten. How would that impact the Gophers' ability to compete?
