Jason Kubel: bearer of muffins

Thanks to Jason Kubel, who nailed the very first Minnesota Twins grand slam of the 2010 season, our buddy Brownick is the lucky winner of delicious home-made muffins. Nick, go ahead and email me to let me know what kind you like and where to send them!
Not only did Kubel make this delicious gift of muffins possible, he ended Mariano Rivera's 51-game save streak at home to lead Minnesota to a 6-3 victory and avoid the sweep. Before he jacked one with the bases loaded (finally) Rivera did something he hadn't since May 6, 2005: he walked in a run, thanks to Jim Thome's good eye at the plate.
The Yankees closer had only given up one other grand salami in his life as a reliever -- back in 2002 -- and a total of just four in his career. Snapping a nine-game skid against the Bronx Bombers, Sunday marked the first time that the Twins have managed a win at the New Yankee Stadium.
They'll head north of the border to the Rogers Centre to take on the Toronto Blue Jays this evening, with Kevin Slowey getting the ball against Dana Eveland at 6:07pm. The left-hander has faced the Twins three times in his career -- only once as a starter -- sporting a 1.80 ERA against them.
In four career starts against the Jays, Slowey is 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA. Yikes.
I'd love your thoughts on the Yankees series, the upcoming two-game set in Canada, and anything else you'd like to throw out there.
P.S. I hope everyone had a great weekend, and for those of you who made it out to the TwinsCentric viewing party in Bloomington on Saturday, I'm super bummed I couldn't make it, but I hope to be out next time!
