Maggie Lund, 8 months, got her first haircut recently at Snip-its in Maple Grove under the watchful eye of her mom, Sarah, dad Erik, and big sister Lucy, 2 1/2, who are from Long Lake. The day was full of anticipation. "She was born with a whole head of hair. We were a little nervous that she'd scream and cry," said mom, Sarah. In the end, Maggie did fine, smiling much of the time and leaving her mom feeling a bit nostalgic. "It's a litte sad because she's growing up." In this photo: ] Maggie is upbeat as stylist Kim Emanuel cuts off her curls as big sister Lucy looks on. A lock of Maggie's hair went home with the Lund family as a memento of the event.

Her mom felt a twinge as the soft curls hit the floor, but 8-month-old Maggie Lund met the scissors with a smile. “She was born with a whole head of hair,” said her mother, Sarah. But now it was time to trim back. The whole family, including big sister Lucy, 21/2, watched as stylist Kim Emanuel combed and clipped at Snip-its in Maple Grove. “We were a little nervous that she’d scream and cry,” Sarah said. But in the end it was Mom who might have shed a tear: “It’s a little sad because she’s growing up.” A lock of Maggie’s hair went home with the Lund family as a memento.
