The National Football Post reported that the Vikings and Packers will host private workouts with Virginia cornerback Chris Cook. Here is the link.

According to the NFL.com, Cook was measured at 6-2, 212 pounds at the Combine. Cook is known as a big, physical corner who is able to disrupt wide receivers at the line but lacks great speed.

This is what the National Football Post's director of college scouting Wes Bunting wrote about Cook:

"Cook is a big, long-armed defensive back who runs extremely well for his size and has the ability to consistently re-route receivers off the line once he gets his hands on them. Although he lacks ideal body control and change of direction skills when asked to play in off-coverage, a primary press man-to-man coverage team like the Packers would be an ideal fit for Cook's physical skill set. "Also, a cover two defense like the Vikings—where Cook can use his big frame and range to sit on routes and go get the football—would also fit his skill set as well. "Cook is a guy who could also be considered a free safety prospect on a lot of team's draft boards because he simply doesn't look like a player who you can consistently trust in off-coverage. But for the primary press coverage defenses and cover two teams in the NFL—like the Vikings and Packers—Cook makes a ton sense." And here was Cook's evaluation on NFL.com "Cook has excellent size and strength for the position. He lacks great burst and pure speed to play out on an island in man coverage but is versatile enough to be effective as a rolled up defender or move inside to the safety position. Cook uses his hands well to re-route receivers off the line of scrimmage. He doesn't have the lateral agility and quickness to stay in a top receiver's hip pocket and he may be a liability in some schemes. Cook is a solid run support defender and an active player versus both the run and pass. Cook has great instincts and feel for route progression to make plays on the ball. His size, toughness and versatility makes him a valued commodity in this year's draft."
