There are few "sciences" less perfect than the methodology used both collectively and individually to elect members to baseball's Hall of Fame. How else can we explain the fact that Bert Blyleven received 70 votes the first time he was on the Hall of Fame ballot and 361 last year without throwing a pitch in between those times? And that in both cases the result was the same: no hall call.

With results of balloting this year set to be released at 1 p.m. Central, we thought we'd open up the floor to amateur voters: you, readers of RandBall. What does your HOF ballot look like? Does Blyleven make your cut? Is Roberto Alomar a first-ballot guy? Barry Larkin? Andre Dawson? Edgar Martinez? The great, wonderful 1980s superstar Dale Murphy? (Bias evident among those of us who had a raggedy Murphy poster in their room for much of childhood).

Our best guess as to what will happen: Alomar and Larkin get in. Martinez adn the rest do not. Blyleven gets tantalizingly close but again falls short (despite the Twibbon) ... but he makes enough of a dent to get in next year in his second-to-last shot.

Your ballot and predictions (hurry!) in the comments, please.
