Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin came out on top in a new Washington Post poll of Republicans but folks in the party are far from united behind her or anyone else.

The new poll found that Palin, who will be in Minnesota next Monday as part of a book tour, was the pick of 18 percent of those surveyed as the person who "best reflects the core values of the Republican Party." Sen. John McCain, the party's presidential nominee, came in second with 13 percent. Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty earned the backing of just one percent but was in good company. Former President Ronald Reagan, a hero of many current Republicans, got just one percent as well.

Palin led the pack for named folks when those polled were asked their 2012 pick. Seventeen percent chose her as the person for whom they would vote, "if the 2012 Republican presidential primary or caucus in your state were being held today." But even she was beat by "no opinion," which garnered 28 percent. Again, Pawlenty attracted interest from one percent.
