BIRCHWOOD, WIS. -- Sawyer County sheriff's authorities suspect murder-suicide after two men were found dead in separate fires.
A 43-year-old man was found dead in a burned-out residence Saturday night in Edgewater Township near Birchwood. Investigators said the nature of the man's wounds and evidence near the body led them to believe he was a homicide victim.
Deputies questioned relatives and friends and developed a suspect. Authorities believe that suspect was the man found dead in a fire Sunday morning near an abandoned mobile home near Spooner.
Neither man has been identified.
