It feels weird to "celebrate" good news on a day dedicated to somber remembrance. We've almost been going out of our way not to get too excited about minor things because this is Sept. 11.

But if you are a Vikings fan, you just can't help but be happy that Pat and Kevin Williams won their court ruling and appear to be safe for the season -- and possibly forever -- in the StarCaps case.

Furthermore, if you are a fan of a decade (or so) old bowling film, then this weekend is all about you. Yes, we will be among the proud participants in Lebowski Fest this weekend; tonight's festivities include a screening of the movie at First Avenue, while tomorrow involves bowing and a costume contest at Memory Lanes. Tom Horgen wrote about it right here.

This is the first time Lebowski Fest has been in the Twin Cities, and we really don't know what to expect other than a lot of white Russian consumption and a roughly 80/20 male to female ratio.

We are borrowing (from Diddy) a Little Lebowski Urban Achiever t-shirt for tonight. Tomorrow, though, we have no costume. As such, please spend the noon hour giving us Lebowski-related costume suggestions that can be easily put together and/or simply bringing up your favorite quotes from the film. Anyone else in RandBall-land going to the fest?
