Sunday was my 2nd Bassmaster Weekend Series tourney of the year. We took off from Alma Marina on the banks of the Mississippi River and we could fish Pools 3, 4, and 5 plus the St. Croix. I got a favorable boat draw and co-angler partner, things were off to a great start and the fish bit my Yellow Magic Popper

early and often.

The bite slowed on my initial spot, the rest of the day I pecked around wood and eel grass flipping both Game Hawgs and Baby Brush Hogs on a 3/16oz Tru-Tungsten weight and 3/0 Youvella OWG hook,.

At the end of the day, my 5 fish limit weighed 14.21lbs and was good for a solid 8th place finish out of 78 anglers. Talking to other anglers, swim jigs and frogs also produced well around grass and pads. My finish moved me up to 3rd in the points which I am pretty happy about so far. All in all, this is a great series; think about joining in as a boater or non-boater for the next tournament at Prairie Deu Chien or LaCrosse.
