Well that was interesting. I have now had the pleasure of covering two of the three games in franchise history in which a Wolves player has scored 50 points. I covered Corey Brewer's 51 points. And now I got to watch the ridiculous 52-point game Mo Williams had this evening.

Williams said he joked with Pacers guard C.J. Watson during the game, telling him it didn't matter what the Pacers did. He was in a zone, he was, as he said, "throwing the ball in the Pacific tonight."

Wolves coach Flip Saunders said it was the hottest he'd ever seen a player get in his 17 years in the league.

Thad Young said it was the best game he'd ever witnessed.

Mo scored 37 of his points in the second half, 21 in the fourth quarter. With just about every shot coming from the perimeter, Williams hit on 19 of 33 shots, hit six of 11 three-pointers and hit eight of nine free throws.

He also had seven assists.

He joins Brewer and Kevin Love in the Wolves' 50-point club.

Here are some other thoughts from the game:

--Another strong outing for Gorgui Dieng, who had 10 points and 10 rebounds to go with six assists and two blocks. What a stat-stuffing night. He was standing tall against Pacers center Roy Hibbert, who was ejected from the game in the third quarter for pulling Dieng violently to the ground.

--Andrew Wiggins had a very strange 20-point night. Active early, he had six points in the first quarter. But then he went a stretch in which he was not aggressive. But he sure came through in the fourth, with a big put-back and two free throws among his nine fourth-quarter points.

--Thad Young had 11 points, six rebounds and four steals. But he didn't get to the free throw line once.

--One big reason the Wolves won? The Pacers went 18-for-30 on free throws, 8-for-17 in the second half.

--The Wolves won despite getting just 14 points from the bench. But seven of those – all by Robbie Hummel – were huge. Because they all came in the fourth quarter.

That's about it for now. Jerry will pick the team up in Phoenix.
