rosemount 41, eastview 6

The Irish made a statement in Week 1. Last year's Prep Bowl runner-up flexed its muscles offensively and defensively in a 41-6 rout of South Suburban Conference and District 196 rival Eastview. After building a 21-0 lead at the half, Rosemount blew the game open with three touchdowns in a span of 4 minutes, 5 seconds to begin the second half to go up 41-0. Rosemount do-it-all defensive back/receiver Dimitri Williams and Rosemount quarterback Jackson Erdmann, the 2013 South Suburban co-offensive players of the year, combined for six touchdowns and 312 total yards, playing just three quarters.

Key of the game: Williams returned the opening kickoff of the second half 93 yards for a touchdown to put the Irish up 27-0. It was his first varsity kickoff return for a touchdown. "That was all blocking, man. I just made the right cuts," he said.

Quote: "It felt awesome. There's nothing better than coming out off the ball right away, getting a score and just keep it going." — quarterback Jackson Erdmann

One thing to know: Rosemount, in winning the fourth of the past five meetings with Eastview, held the Lightning to 134 total yards in the game.
