Keeping tabs on Thursday's morning commute

Good morning, commuters!
Here we go again with possible trouble on the Northstar line. Metro Transit says the first inbound trip will run on the outbound tracks between Elk River and Ramsey. Earlier the agency said the first inbound trip would be 15 minutes late, but the first train is only 2 minutes late arriving at the Ramsey Station.
On the roads, authorities have just cleared a crash on northbound 494 at Hwy. 5 in Oakdale. We still have road work along northbound 494 through Plymouth and Maple Grove. The ramp from Rockford Road to north 494 is closed. The road work should wrap up by 7 a.m., MnDOT says.
I’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.
If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
