Randball: Even worse lottery luck, if possible, for Wolves
- July 30, 2014 - 8:41 PM
A proposed change to the NBA lottery system would give equal weight to the bottom handful of teams in the league instead of giving an edge to the team with the worst record. It made me wonder how the Wolves might have fared if the NBA had been operating for the past 25 years under that system.
Without knowing the exact NBA proposal, it’s hard to figure this out with certainty, but after crunching the numbers my best guess is it wouldn’t have been good. The Wolves — who have had historically bad lottery luck — would have been even worse off in this new system.
Thanks Houston RB Arian Foster gave the same answer about being “the best teammate” repeatedly at a training camp news conference Wednesday.
