Vijay Singh and Scott Verplank will be part of the 78-player field at the 3M Championship, tournament officials announced Tuesday. This year’s tournament will run Aug. 1-3 at the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine.

Singh is a 34-time winner on the PGA Tour and has won three majors (the 1998 and 2004 PGA Championships and the 2000 Masters). He won the FedEx Cup in 2008, has 22 international victories and held the No. 1 world golf player ranking for 32 weeks in 2004-05. He was the tour’s leading money winner in 2004, ’04 and ’08, and was elected into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2005.

Verplank has five PGA Tour victories, including the 1985 Western Open while he was a student at Oklahoma State to become the first amateur to win a Tour event in 29 years. He turned 50 on July 9, 2014, and made his Champions Tour debut that week at the U.S. Senior Open.

“We are thrilled to have Vijay and Scott join the world-class field who will be playing in the 3M Championship next week,” said Hollis Cavner, executive director of the 3M Championship.

General admission will be free for all spectators.
