TWINS UPDATE

The Twins are 4-8 against the National League this season and have not had a winning record in interleague play since 2009. This is their final series at an NL park; they have home interleague series remaining against San Diego and Arizona. … They are 5-4 all-time vs. the Rockies, taking two of three at Target Field the last time they met in 2010. The last time the Twins played in Denver, they lost two of three games in 2008. … Correia is 3-5 with a 4.47 ERA in his career (31 games, 13 starts) against Colorado. A career .112 hitter, he has yet to get a hit as a Twin. … Hughes, who has never faced the Rockies, is 0-for-9 at the plate in his career. … Josh Willingham is a career .275 hitter against the Colorado with three home runs and 16 RBI. He's 3-for-8 against De La Rosa.

ROCKIES UPDATE

This series marks the return of former All-Star and Gold Glove outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, who has been out of the lineup since June 3 because of a benign tumor in his left index finger that needs to be removed. He will move to right field upon his return. He can play there since former Twins star Michael Cuddyer, the defending NL batting champion, remains on the disabled list because of fractured left shoulder suffered playing third. He is not expected to be back until late August at the earliest, and could miss the season if the results of a July 21 magnetic resonance imaging exam aren't favorable. … Anderson has been activated from the disabled list (broken finger). … The Rockies already have used 13 different starters this season.
