TULSA, OKLA. – The Lynx got into a run-and-gun shootout Thursday night.
Bad strategy for the Tulsa Shock at the BOK Center. When the Lynx heat up and shoot 50 percent or better from the floor, they never lose, 45 wins in a row and counting.
This night they were a torrid 66 percent from the floor in the first half, led by six at halftime, and won 91-85 as Maya Moore scored 33 points and had 11 rebounds.
The Lynx forward has scored 30 or more points eight times this season; the Lynx are 7-1 when she does.
"I tried to mix it up inside and out, and I was able to get a three early on," Moore said. "It wasn't necessarily the best thing for me to take a bunch of threes tonight [she was 1-for-4]. I just tried to drive it in and dish or post up."
Lindsay Whalen also had a huge game with 21 points and 10 assists and came within one rebound of the first triple-double in Lynx history and the first in the league since 2005.
"We are always trying to attack the paint," Whalen said. "One of our main goals every game is to make sure we are attacking. I thought our bigs ran the floor well early and … our drives were working well too."
The Lynx (15-6) had lost three in a row on the road, but this was their ninth consecutive victory at the BOK since June 2010.
All-Star guard Skylar Diggins had 21 points and 12 assists for Tulsa (7-13). Teammate Glory Johnson had 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Not enough to offset a visiting team that shot 55 percent.
