A man in Mankato set off a pipe bomb late at night outside his home and was arrested, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 12:10 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Chatsworth Drive, about 2 blocks south of Mankato East High School, according to police.
Police arrived and found several other handmade explosive devices at the residence, they said. The Bloomington bomb squad was called and safely removed the devices.
A resident at the home said he made the devices more than 18 months ago in a location outside Mankato, police added.
The 62-year-old man was arrested and jailed. He has yet to be charged.
