The contest, part II

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Seinfeld" by watching — what else? — the 25 most critically acclaimed episodes, starting with the one in which Jerry makes the mistake of keeping a pen. The countdown will take place in two-hour chunks for the next six nights, culminating in a Saturday night feast featuring the best of the best. 5 p.m. TBS

Background noise

Quincy Jones may be best known for producing Michael Jackson smashes, but he also has a storied movie career. An all-night tribute to Q features five films he scored, starting with 1965's "The Pawnbroker" (7 p.m.) and 1967's "In the Heat of the Night" (9 p.m.). He'll introduce each film with host Robert Osborne. TCM

Riding with the King

Novelist Stephen King penned the second-season premiere of "Under the Dome" and even makes a cameo appearance, most likely as the custodian who has to keep the darned dome from getting fingerprints all over it. Eddie Cahill and Karla Crome join the cast as regulars. 9 p.m. WCCO, Ch. 4
