Enbridge Energy has won approval from the North Dakota Public Service Commission to build the Sandpiper Pipeline Project through that state. The $2.6 billion, 616-mile project, which is still under review by Minnesota regulators, will have the initial capacity to transport up to 225,000 barrels of North Dakota crude per day from Tioga, N.D., to Clearbrook, Minn., and 375,000 barrels per day from Clearbrook to Superior, Wis., for transfer via other pipelines to refinery markets in the United States and eastern Canada.
