Arcia, Twins try to solve Richards

Oswaldo Arcia and Eric Fryer are in the lineup tonight as the Twins take on the Angels at the Big A.
Arcia, slumping badly lately, gets a chance to show that the extra work he's had with hitting coach Tom Brunansky is paying off. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire kept Arcia out of the lineup against lefthander C.J. Wilson on Tuesday because of his recent struggles.

But Garrett Richards is no slouch.

Thanks to an improved fastball, Richards has positioned himself to appear in Target Field on July 15 as an American League All-Star. He's 7-2 with a 2.79 ERA on the season - and is 3-0, 0.67 this month. And his curveball compliments his heater very well.

Only four Twins players have faced Richards. Kendrys Morales is 2-for-10 against him with a home run. Eduardo Nunez is 1-for-5 but is on the DL. Brian Dozier and Pedro Florimon are 0-for-1 against him.

Eric Fryer is catching tonight. With tomorrow being an off day. Kurt Suzuki was going to get Wednesday or Thursday. Since he has good numbers against tomorrow's starter, Jared Weaver,'' Suzuki got tonight  off.
