A woman’s body was found wrapped in a blanket in the woods in St. Paul, and police on Sunday were characterizing the death as suspicious.
The body was discovered in the 1400 block of Minnehaha Avenue near Johnson Parkway about 9 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Police were called there concerning a “possible dead baby,” but Sgt. Paul Paulos said the victim was a woman, not an infant. Authorities are awaiting further information from the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office concerning the victim’s age and identity.
“Investigators are actively looking into the matter to find out what happened moments before the incident took place,” police said in a statement. “They are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) and victim in this incident.”
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the St. Paul Police homicide unit at 651-266-5650.
