Dane County tallies weather damage

MADISON, Wis. — Dane County emergency managers estimate damage from this week's severe weather at more than $15 million.

County Executive Joe Parisi says tornadoes in Verona and Madison Tuesday and severe weather in eastern Dane County Wednesday damaged more than 250 homes and several businesses and public buildings. Two homes were destroyed and beyond repair.

WISC-TV ( ) says the public buildings include Country View Elementary, where the storms caused $4 million in damage. The county has passed its estimate to state officials who will decide whether to apply for federal aid.
