A University of Minnesota chemistry graduate student injured in a science lab explosion went home from the hospital Thursday after undergoing surgery to remove glass from his arm and leg. Walter Partlo, 36, was admitted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis on Tuesday afternoon with burns and cuts suffered when a chemical compound mixture exploded. Smith Hall on the U's East Bank campus was evacuated and reopened Tuesday night.
